All About Image Trace!

Oh, the things you can do with image trace!

This week's tutorial, we take a deeper look at image tracing in Illustrator.

Image tracing is essentially the process of creating vector lines around an image that is pixelated - like a photograph, or in this case a photograph of handwriting.

Before I get on with it, I've gotta share something about my 8 year old (do you love these stories yet?) Plus, I'll share a little social media vs. reality detail!

….I usually record 6-8 tutorials all in one day...and then I schedule them out over the next weeks (mama with organization skills!! I know, I’m a genius!!) Well, then once I record them, I usually cut out all the designs to take pretty photos of them.

So this particular one, I asked my daughter to handwrite this text for me so I could test out the image trace function in my tutorial. I also told her to make sure it was her "sloppiest" writing ever. (You know, so it would be cuter when engraved!) She was super confused but determined to make this look the PERFECT amount of sloppy!

Let’s do this! Let me walk you how to do it step by step using Adobe Illustrator.
